Kilwa Trading is built on a proud trading heritage and a simple promise: convenience delivered. Rooted in the legacy of Kilwa – the 10th-century Swahili trading gateway – we bring that same spirit of connection and reliability to modern cross-border trade across Southern Africa.
Kilwa began operations in January 2021 in Pretoria, South Africa, and we are rapidly expanding our network across the region.
Our assegai in the brand mark stands for the protection of our values and purpose; the green in our palette reflects our deep African heritage.
We are a lean, highly experienced team with over 100 years’ combined commercial and logistics expertise, organised into dedicated country teams so customers always receive focused, local attention.
We specialise in end-to-end cross-border trade management: sourcing and procurement, consolidation and warehousing, customs clearing and forwarding, and reliable last mile delivery into Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Zambia and Botswana. We operate with formal, legal processes that reduce border delays, lower cost per tonne through consolidation, and remove the compliance burden so our clients can trade with confidence.
